Emu Swamp at Peregian Beach on the Sunshine Coast was rescued from development following protests by local people and is now part of the Noosa National Park complex. As a result, several seriously threatened species such as the Wallum Rocketfrog and the rarely seen Ground Parrot have been made a little more secure.
